About

In 1998 I founded debating.net. At that time debate resources on the internet where scattered and scarce, the goal at the time was to provide a central location for the world debating community.
After 10-years it is time to redefine the goal. debating.net will now focus on archiving the history of WUDC EUDC and a few other major debating communities and provide a forum environment for debaters.
The forum environment will be merged with debateforums.net.

Introduction

Many of the global debating sites are no longer maintained. Due to this fact I rerouted all those sites to debating.net. debating.net will combine the info from all feeds and listservers as good as possible.

Hi All,

It gives us great pleasure to announce that we are now acceptingapplications for the Deputy Chief Adjudicator (DCA) positions of the Asian Unity Tournament (AUT). As stated in an earlier email, there will be 4 Deputy Chief Adjudicator positions for the AUT comprising 1representative from South Asia, 1 from North East Asia and 2 fromSoutheast Asia. In line with the unitary aspect of the tournament, wewill also ensure that there is adequate representation from both Asiantournaments. We also believe it is important for the adjudication coreto represent gender diversity and include candidates with experienceas well as candidates with potential.

Dear debaters,
After opening the DCA applications phase for a further two days, we now have a far longer list of potential candidates. I realize that some people have already sent feedback about the earlier list of candidates and want to assure them that they can send another mail if they so wish! Again, thank you to everyone who has already written to me – I am learning a lot and want to make sure that we have the best possible team (on a number of different metrics) for Worlds in 2010.

Coaching opportunity‏ in Israel
Tuesday, 09 December 2008 09:17
Sia’h vaSig - The Israel Debating Society - regularly hosts week long Summer Debate Workshops in English in four different locations in Israel over a period of twelve days. These workshops serve to introduce high school students to the world of debating and are the catalyst for our weekly club meetings throughout the year. The workshops are run by the best Israeli debaters, usually former World Schools debaters and current World University debaters. We have found, however, that the addition of coaches from abroad helps to attract students to the workshops and offers the opportunity of studying with coaches of the highest standard from different traditions and with varying accents. Since the workshops tend to fall during the university exam period in Israel, we do not always have the assistance of our local university debaters and enjoy the outside help.
